Giuseppina
Pizzolato offers private full- and half-day
Italian cooking lessons and catered dinners for
small groups (and even banquets for larger ones)
in Tuscany and beyond, her place or yours.
With the cookinh lesson all the students will receive
a certification and the cooking school' s apron.
Additional offerings include tastings of their estate-bottled
wine, a combined dinner at wine tasting, truffle-hunting
in season with Stefano and Dolly, the Queen of Truffle
Dogs. You can even participate in the olive and
grapes harvest -- strenuous, but highly rewarding
(even crush grapes with your feet if you like...we'll
watch, and applaud)!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- SEE
HOW IT'S DONE.
Discover the secrets of Italian cuisine when it's
prepared in the region where it originated. Create
authentic, mouthwatering Tuscan antipasti (marmelata
di cipolla con pecorino or velutata di porcini),
find out why you never, but never put wine in risotto;
discover the secret of the world's lightest tiramisù
and other irresistible desserts. Learn the secrets
of these traditional dishes...then delight in consuming
all the delectables you've prepared. Whether you're
a casual cook or an dedicated enthusiast, once you
spend time with Giuseppina, you'll understand it
takes more than a recipe to prepare an authentic
Italian meal (and why it's worth it).
If you're staying in an apartment or agriturismo
with a kitchen available, Giuseppina will be happy
to come conduct your Private
Lesson or prepare a Complete
Catered Dinner at your location, for almost
any size group. You can also come to her laboratory
and partake in a meal or lesson there. Lessons and
dinners include food and wine.
If a half-day is not enough, start your Full-day
Lezione di Cucina Giuseppina with the selection
of the ingredients at the local fresh market. Meet
for a cappuccino and brioche at the Certaldo bar,
then head for the fresh market to see what looks
best. Once all selections are made, return to the
farm for a light lunch before you begin meal preparation.
Prepare a four-course meal of antipasti, primo,
secondo and dolce before indulging in results of
your hard work. WE CAME
FOR THE WINE.
If wine is your focus, arrange to stop by the Falisca
II for a tour of the vineyard and cantina, a
little family history and explanation of wine-making
in the region and the country, and a tasting and
comparing of the wine produced there. Giuseppina
will prepare table of antipasti to accompany the
tasting.
Don't feel like choosing? Opt for the combined Cena
e Degustazione. Arrive at the Falisca for a
tour of the vineyard and cantina with an overview
of the wine-making process, then begin the cooking
lesson. Once your meal is ready, your tasting will
be incorporated with the Falisca's own wines, with
tasting and explanations.
WHAT ELSE?
Harvest grapes and olives, hunt for truffles with
Stefano and Dolly, his terrier, and the expert in
these matters. You can even request a Medieval Dinner
for your group (attenzione: there's only a wooden
spoon to eat with!)
